March 1, 2003 Minutes - Philippines
Saint Bridget School Batch 1979
Attendees: Suzette David, Alma Alvarez-Francisco, Ma. Victoria Edora, Ruth Tamesis, Wilma Buenviaje-Ruiz, Pinky (of course) and Tessa Belleza
  1. Of the priority projects presented, the meeting discussed what the Batch is willing to contribute to the school as part of its homecoming activities. The projects are listed with the following notations:

1.1 Of the five (5) computers for the library, three will be provided by Batch 1981.

1.2 Update laboratory equipment (we need to check on this)

1.3 Waterproofing of the auditorium (very expensive)

1.4 Repainting of the external walls of the auditorium (will be taken on by the school and Batch 1975)

1.5 Repainting of the high school building

1.6 Detachable tables for faculty room (they want to upgrade the faculty first)

1.7 Repair of comfort rooms in the auditorium (very expensive)

1.8 Re-landscaping of the quadrangle to include a mini-waterfall and the flagpole (winner)

1.9 Curtains for the high school building (not necessary)

1.10 Repair of comfort rooms in the grade school and high school buildings (very expensive)

1.11 P.E. mats for gymnastics and taekwondo (we have to check on this)

1.12 New Piano (will be taken on by Batch 1978)

  2. Of these priority projects, the group selected item 2.8. Selection was simply due to a matter of resources. I would like to open the discussion to those in the U.S. for any comments and suggestion since this will be a batch contribution.
  3. Furthermore, upon selection of item 2.8, Pinky suggested that we ask for solicitation forms either from the school or alumni foundation to solicit funds or donations in order to accomplish this project. Since she is a Board member, Suzette will check with the alumni foundation. With money donations, there is a need for an account to channel the funds, either for this project or for the homecoming events.
  4. There was a comment from one class that we have separate accounts for each class. However, it was decided that it would be practical to have one account for both classes since it is a batch homecoming. Elisa Rabino will be tasked to talk to Monique Quisumbing about the decision for one account only.
  5. At present, there exists a savings account under the name of Suzette David-Nazareno and Monique Quisumbing-Ignacio with RCBC in Loyola Heights, Quezon City. This Savings Account # 119-3392748 is where Suzette deposits the monthly contributions of the local class members.
  6. We are appealing to those in the U.S. to decide on a definite date in July 2003 for the Batch Homecoming. The sooner we decide this date, the better we can plan for the event. We will also need to book the school venue for this Batch Homecoming because we would like to plan some events in the school grounds. Subsequently, after we decide on July 2003, we can also decide for the November 2003 homecoming.
  7. The next meeting has been scheduled for March 29, Saturday at Pinky's place.
